Judge Cummings

Judge Cummings was born in Lubbock, Texas.  He became one of the Northern District of Texas’ Judges after being appointed in 1987 by President Reagan.

Judge Cummings graduated from Texas Tech University (with a B.B.A.) in 1967, and received his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Baylor University School of Law in 1970.  At Baylor, Judge Cummings was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award and the Judge Hunter D. Barrow Memorial Scholarship Award.

Following his graduation from law school, Judge Cummings practiced law with Culton, Morgan, Britain & White in Amarillo, Texas from 1970 to 1987.  He made Partner after only four years with the firm.

Judge Cummings’ chambers are in Lubbock, Texas.
