On December 23, 2014, Sarah R. Saldaña resigned as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. President Obama had nominated her to be Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on August 28, 2014, and the Senate confirmed her nomination on December 16, 2014.
