Was It $150,000 in Ones? Strip Club Owner Indicted in the Northern District of Texas For Attempted Hit on Mayor of Arlington

Dallas Morning News is reporting that Ryan Grant, an Arlington strip club owner (of Flashdancer), was indicted in the Northern District of Texas after attempting to pay Mexican hit men $20,000 to kill Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and a Dallas-based attorney.  (Indictment available here; Complaint available here.)  Grant and the City of Arlington had reached an agreement that resulted in the closure of Flashdancer for one year.  The City of Arlington, however, had initiated steps to revoke Flashdancer’s license.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Grant was upset at his targets for closing down his strip club and attempting to shut it down permanently.  A search warrant executed at Grant’s house turned up 22 firearms and nearly $150,000 in cash.

The case is pending before Judge McBryde.

Grant is represented by J. Warren St. John, of the Law Office of J. Warren St. John.

The United States is represented by Chris Wolfe, of the United States Attorney’s Office.
